8 months. Considering leaving NYC entirely. Life shouldn't be measured on how many lions and pencils you can win.
6 mos. sent out 500 resumes/applications/emails. I have several dozen Lions so that doesnt matter in the end.
Never stop searching.
Not because it was hard to find a job, but because it was hard to find the right job.
Spent six months tirelessly looking until one day I had an email in my inbox from WK. Keep at it.
I looked for two years to find my current job.
Got nothing for five months. In the past two and a half weeks, I’ve had interviews at five agencies. Hang in there. Something will happen
Took me about 7 weeks of hard (daily) searching and about 20 informational interviews before I landed something that I start next week. Hang in there. There are jobs. Just keep plugging away and never underestimate the power of a referral.
Seriously email everybody you know. Most agencies have referral bonuses so there could be a $1,000 in it for them, too.
I spent the summer just applying to job after job because no freelance work was coming up. Now summer is over, I got none of the jobs, but work is starting to pick up. Sooner or later the sun comes out, don’t despair
Someone told me, count a month for your years of experience and assume that's how long it will take.
Maybe 3 months total, with only the past 3 weeks being daily searching. The rest was casual if someone posted an opportunity .
6 months. Hang in there, OP. September is when agency Q4 budgets have been finalized, which means purse strings are gonna loosen. Now’s the time to work those connections hard.
Longest was about...7-8 months after I got laid off. I don’t think you are doing anything wrong as long as your actively applying and reaching out to your network...
I understand what you may be going through... it is frustrating as hell, non-responses, rejections... but you’ll get it. It just takes some luck and A LOT of patience. Hang in there, you are defiantly not alone.
Good luck!

2 weeks after being laid off from my previous company. I’ll say it. I was 100% lucky. But a good book does help.
Usually takes me 6-8 months and longer the higher you go
