My boss in my creative agency threatened to fire me because I, a male, came into work with my nails painted. What should I expect from my manager? I've stuck it out for a year now and all I'm ever told is to not make mistakes. Manager stated explicitly that he does not want to review or test my work. Any attempts at discussion of why I made a mistake are dismissed by him as me making excuses. I never get any positive feedback. Honestly how long have you been seeking a new job and to what extent are you searching... someone give me some hope

So… two months ago I started a gig as a CD. Good agency. Very talented people. Pretty quickly I realized that my new job is kinda about keeping up with incoming emails/teams messages. I can’t handle it. For the last month I have been sleeping in, getting out of bed after 11am, like I prefer. Those notifications start coming at around 8am and all I do is press those suggested replies on teams, not even half awake, pretty much still dreaming, and it works. I’m getting lots of good feedback.

One of my only stable forces was my job. I didn’t think about it at the time. I am now. It would be weird tell my team this, a lot of personal details would have to be explained, and I’d cry, so I’m saying it here instead. I am thankful for my team. I am thankful for my desk. I am thankful for the same meetings I complain about. Even when I’m only ‘responding without comments’, I’m still thankful.
