Frisco is more city feeling. Flower Mound is a (slightly) better place to raise a family based in bigger lots, less congestion, better schools, smaller ISD.
I don't know it that well to say for sure, I live in Southlake and our schools are all phenomenal, but it's a high entry point to get a house here. Easy way to check though is use zillow and pick a few houses across flowermound and look at the school ratings for each house
I live in Frisco and never feel compelled to go downtown/uptown Dallas. I have Plano, Allen, Prosper, and McKinney to do all my fun activities and I’m content
East Dallas is the best…
Flower Mound has almost no “urban” flare to it. It’s peak suburbs stereotype. I grew up there, and while it’s grown a lot, it won’t hold a candle to Frisco regarding nightlife, restaurants, entertainment, etc.
I live in FM and agree with everything you said.
Kessler Park. If you like living my the core, the burbs aren't going to cut it.
FLOWER MOUND
Not in Flower Mound. There’s hardly any crime. If you want something sonewhat urban there’s Lakeside, though Frisco has more of a downtown
Wouldn’t even think about Frisco or Flower Mound. I would go with Kessler Park, M Streets, Lakewood and if schools are a concern then just go private
Schools are outstanding in FM
I live in Flower Mound and love it. Large yards & lots of great local restaurants. Another piece to consider: no toll roads are needed to get around Flower Mound and to Dallas.
Rising Star
Frisco for sure, however pricier and tougher competition
I also live in Flower Mound and also love it 👍👍
Frisco is so built up it’s gotten crazy, too much traffic and too many people. It is true Flower Mound doesn’t have much of a night life, but all our schools are 9/10 so you don’t have to do private.
I’m on the Lewisville side by Marcus High school and it’s still pretty affordable….go west towards Double Oak and Argyle and it’s uber fancy. I just get the nice area code but still affordable! 😂
If I were 10-15 years younger though and single, I wouldn’t choose Flower Mound over something more active but for our family it’s perfect.
Deep Ellum maybe? Lots of bars and restaurants.
Oak Cliff has been home to one of the largest Latino populations in Dallas since the 1960s so maybe there?
Rising Star
Frisco hands down. Flower Mound also lacks adequate highway access compared to Frisco/Plano
If you want to be on a waiting list for dinner on a Tuesday night, then Frisco. Flower mound is a slower pace but growing.
Richardson
Then go to Frisco.
I am new to Dallas so sincere questions, wouldn't Frisco be further away from downtown Dallas than Flower Mount? How could you enjoy urban life going to Frisco?I am in Lewisville( 25min from downtown and usually no traffic) and already feel so far from urban life.
We're thinking in terms of which city has more semblance of urbanity than the other. Not really the distance to downtown.
^This. It’s not about being able to go into the actual city every day, it’s more about still having options for food, entertainment, shopping, workouts, etc.
Oh, and ya know they're building that theme park in Frisco. All the office buildings in construction too. It's starting to look v urban. 🤣
For whoever sent me a Dm, I accidentally clicked ignore if you can please DM again so I can respond! Sorry!!
Hi, I’m a realtor in DFW area. If you are looking to purchase, i can help :) it costs nothing to you (realtor commission comes out of sellers pocket) and eligible buyers can earn cash back as well. :) (ie $500,000 house you can earn $3,500 cash back)
If you're looking for an urban flare, you are not going to find it in Flower Mound. The closest thing to an urban vibe is the Lakeside section of Flower Mound, but it does not have extensive shopping, dining, or entertainment. Flower Mound is EXTREMELY conservative. People move here for the nice lot sizes, good schools, and quite suburban life. If you like the outdoors (we're located between two lakes) and want to be 30 mins from downtown Dallas, Flower Mound is a good choice.
