Idk I’m getting fat and my eye is twitching.
Magnesium gummies daily (I use the Calm brand) stops my eye twitching, FYI!
Not law stress but newborn stress at the moment for me- I had similar chest tightness managing the stress of adjusting to life with my newborn. I finally was able to go take a walk the other day and my persistent chest tightness vanished. Maybe a midday walk could help, but I know that’s not always realistic.
Obviously everyone on this thread and OP are super smart and rock! Just find the joy in what you do. Most of what we do is scheduled and fixed, so we’re in control. I control my life is the motto.
I like to engage in physical activities because of my lower back too. I like to stretch and workout.
I try to take breaks— where possible— that help me relax. Breaks like hot shower (forced to be off phone), walking around office, drinking glass of cold water, eating dinner at dinner table (leaving phone in work bag), etc. I feel like that can help restart the stress that builds on me throughout the day.
Pro
I knit. Even if it’s just for 90 seconds in between client calls, I always feel better afterwards.
If I have a longer break, I’ll walk around the block (or pace around my house if I’m wfh)
Knit and crochet here too!
If it makes sense for you, medication may be a good option. It’s what I do when I have very situational heightened stress like preparing for big dispositive motions for a week or two. For more “regular” stress my go to ways to manage are: hot baths with salts from a brand called Flewd, being regular with stretching and weight lifting 3-4x a week (almost wish it didn’t help, haha, cuz it takes up time LOL), and having a boring but nice nighttime set of rituals like hot herbal tea, doing a crossword, and nice smelling hand lotion that I apply in bed right before pulling up the cover to go to sleep. Hope some of those ideas help some of you! You are not alone. I am a ball of stress too! Mind usually manifests in my neck
