We had two WFH days, so it was kind of like being a kid again. Except I didn't play outside and then come in and watch cartoons. I don't have kids, so thankfully I didn't have to worry about school closures or any of that. I made sure to have some food in my apartment, and the electric stayed on, thankfully, so it wasn't too bad.
That’s a great point - it really does feel a little like being a kid again during big snowstorms, just with a lot more responsibility layered on top. I’m glad your power stayed on and you were able to stay comfortable at home!

Those weeks are survival mode. I communicate early, reset expectations, and focus on output not hours. Sometimes flexibility is the real productivity strategy when life throws disruption at you.
I love how you framed that: “flexibility is the real productivity strategy.” It's a hard thing to learn! Resetting expectations early is such an important part of navigating tough weeks, especially when so many things are outside anyone’s control. Thank you for sharing your perspective!

That can be tough, I do have working from home days which is very beneficial.
I'm glad you have flexibility and work from home days - it definitely makes a big difference when unexpected things come up! I hope more employers give employees grace and remote work options for unexpected situations.
