I love my boss, the cases I work on, the atmosphere, I have a nice office with a killer view, I really don’t want to leave. However, a federal court district judge I used to intern with expressed interest in bringing me on as a law clerk in the coming months. I would take a slight pay cut, but I’m thinking it’s a great opportunity. Thoughts?
100% yes
No brainer. Take the clerkship. Especially if you know, like, and work well with the judge, it will change your life.
I do like the judge and staff. I think I would work well there in a comfortable environment. I really do appreciate your input.
Take the clerkship. No question about it. As someone who has done them, they are extremely valuable and your firm should understand completely. Plus they will probably hire you back especially after you get that experience.
Take it. No question
Similar situation except for being at current firm a little longer. A fed agency reaches out and the new position seems really interesting. Pay cut but not financially crippling. Just had my second interview today. Felt good. Fingers crossed and hope your situation works out.
Good luck! Thanks!
Pretty much everyone on here will have the same answer. That should tell you how good this is
Take it.
Take it. No question.
What’s your salary range now?
80k
Take it. It will more than pay for itself.
Is this career clerk or term clerk position
Like I said, take it either way.
As long as you have your next job secured, why does it matter?
