I am an american moved to brum. Still was able to hold my US job so i work remotely. But how I got it was I went through an IT program to essentially get A+ cert. during that program we were given the opportunity to speak with recruiters and professionals from various companies. I made it my goal to network and stay connected with those individuals throughout the program and further. Finally after the program ended we were given internships to which mine was completed but they did not want to hire me full time but shortly after (a month or two) one of the recruiters I connected with during the program gave me a call for a fully remote opportunity and the rest is history. We have gone through acquisitions and whatnot and here I am. Lesson to learn here, network and connect with professionals. When an opportunity presents itself, don’t be afraid to take that risk!
I haven’t networked with anyone here as of yet but they do have events on eventbright I have seen. The job market in the UK is no where near in Notth America 😭
