None of the partners in my firm have lives that I wanted to aspire to, and I had accumulated more money than I had time to spend. As soon as I decided to step away, I slept better and had more clarity—to the point that I was excited leading up to giving notice.

I left law years ago in the 90s, thinking I hated it bc I started in firms. Went into pharma sakes, which, at the time, was way less pressure and stress and relationship building and super interesting to learn medicine.

That industry went into a huge overhaul ( which was actually sorely needed) and I didn’t want to go into management so I had to eventually get out. I went back into law in a different focus on learning contract analysis which led into data privacy, corporate transactions, etc. this eventually led me into AI development and then in house counsel. A strange path for sure- but did not affect my identity.

You made it through law school and passed the bar. You can do it. The question is- do you want to? Time to experiment is now if you can afford the switch

My two year anniversary of starting my career (in general) is coming up in the next 3 weeks.

Aug 2020- 65k base salary
Jan 2022- 80k base salary
July/Aug 2022- 110k base salary


Just posting as a reminder to LEAVE that job (within a reasonable time 😂) and go where the money is!

(p.s. I already know some of you have had higher increases in the same amount of time & I consider 6 months minimum is “within a reasonable time”)

Hello Fishes, British petroleum Grade-7 in Digital functions or Wipro C1 Business Value Architect, fixed pay is almost same Wipro is paying 2 lacs more variable than BP.
