I stay curious and actually care about the “why” behind the data. I dig deeper than what’s asked, look for patterns others miss, and always try to make my insights useful, not just pretty charts. Going above and beyond for me means making the work actually matter.
Always looking for ways to improve. Sometimes it is internal processes, sometimes it’s just the way I’m doing things, but if I see something I always try to bring it up if needed. I have had ideas that were implemented and that’s a great feeling! Plus saves us some time and extra work which means we can focus more efforts where it’s needed.
One of the ways I have always gone above and beyond in any role I have had is asking my boss what things she needs help with and if there is anything she needs to delegate to me. Over the years I have noticed she has felt more comfortable passing easy tasks off to me and it helps me take some of the load off her. Some call it brown nosing at my office but I don’t care.
The way I go above and beyond is by scheduling weekly meetings with my boss and team. In these meetings, we check in on how everyone is doing with current projects. It's just a way to gauge how everyone is doing, which in turn improves the quality of our work.
