That all depends on the level of pushback. Some people just like to put their two cents in and they don't disturb things much. Sometimes you'll have someone with authority who just wants to re-invent every conceivable wheel. That's when it's necessary to push back against the pushback, however that can be done.
I tend to draw the line if it’s some team I’ve never worked with before, when teams I work with, my business partners, etc. need support I am willing to be more flexible.

That sounds exhausting. Constant pushback drains energy and slows everything down, especially when it feels more like a power play than true collaboration. In those situations, I try to clarify the why behind decisions early on—sometimes that neutralizes the resistance, but other times it just shows me clearly that the culture isn’t one I want to stay in long term.
