It's time when you dread going to work everyday. When you've tried every way you know how to fix the situation and it's still miserable. I went thru this before... Involved my manager. He involved others in management and HR. Nothing changed. I ended up leaving.
i just quit my job because of this. Manager was a bully to me but favorited everyone else. But now I can’t find work. it’s awful
Always report the bullies to HR. It is against the code of conduct. They are the first group of people that HR will talk to about their behavior.
This makes me feel a little better. I finally quit yesterday because I couldn't take it anymore. It was affecting me at home.. Now, I'm scared I won't find anything else and feel irresponsible, but it was past time and it was do it now or be stuck (it felt like)
I pray you find a Job. Im going through the same . The only difference that the one who makes it toxic its the owner. Thet dont have HR .
I've been through this, too. It's not worth losing your sanity over a paycheck in my opinion. I was able to get out and into an even better workplace with great coworkers and management. It didn't help a lot to talk to HR, but I went ahead and did it, just to have it on the record. I hope things will work out for you, too.
If you really can't stand doing the job, start looking for something else. It's not great to have to leave because of one person, but if they're really creating a toxic situation, you can find something better for yourself. Life's too short to put up with drama every day.
I have had to leave because of one toxic person. She was particularly manipulative and was known to go after people. You had to forgive every facet of her personality or she would go after you. She finally got rid of me, but she could make it look llke it was her co-worker.
I just went through this myself. I had a great role supporting a great executive who was a great person (I thought) then he hired a new VP who would only join the company with an EA and since there wasn’t budget to hire a new EA for him so I was given the responsibility of supporting him and he was a “Diva” he was making my life miserable after 6 months supporting him and my other executive i was burnt out and found myself depressed, doubting myself, crying (i have never cried over work before) and dreading going to work. After a series of steps I eventually made the decision to resign but I did worked with HR in order to come to an agreeable separation package. At the end of the day, your mental health is the most important thing there is only one of you, but there’s thousands of jobs out there. I understand that this is a tough job market right now, but you need to protect you.
Co-workers have become beyond egotistical.
I did go to HR about someone and they helped me. They were able to adjust my reporting so I didn’t have to work with the individual.
Ive been holding that kind of feeling last year, fake it everyday that I am fine just to potray ' profesional side'. But in the end how well the salary is, I choose myself. I resign on recent January. ofcourse its frustrating to find a job nowadays but atleaset I am heading somewhere where I 'meant' to be.
I went through the same thing and I did find a new job that I love and it's a lot easier to find a job when you already have one. So don't leave that job without a new one to go into.
Omg this is exactly how I feel too. Unfortunately we don't even have a HR department. I've been applying for jobs for weeks now and nothing seems to be coming through
I am going through the same thing! My coworker is a social butterfly and only comes to work to socialize... All day mind you! I have to hear her loud, unnecessary continuous personal calls about absolutely nothing. I did go to Managers, who did nothing, then went to HR, whom supposedly addressed this issue to her, but absolutely nothing has a changed! The supervisors themelves have full conversations with her as well, at her desk! I have a very busy workload compared to hers and she's very distracting and very rude! I am so over this place and the bs politics and favoritism, but I know I can't make a move just yet...
