Took me 5 weeks to realize I needed a sleep coach. 1 hour session, a few minor changes to our routine (and protocol), and she sleeps perfectly now. Don’t want to jinx it but it’s been over a year. We just go back to the lessons and apply the same techniques when she reverts (like on travel).
1) pitch black. I had blackout shades. This meant taping the edges down and turning off the hatch red light.
2) go from waves on the sound machine to pure white noise
3) and then tolerating 5 mins cry, 2 min shush (no interactions), repeatedly. Then the next night increasing to 7 then 10 mins. It’s torture and not what we wanted in principle but we were exhausted but that shit worked after just a few tries. Worth it.
4) remove all toys except one lovey.
We had luck with the Taking Cara Babies program. It’s rough though, I feel you. When we hit the two-year regression, my husband and I would alternate sleeping with my kiddo in her own room so she wouldn’t get accustomed to sleeping on our room. Luckily she got through it and she sleeps through the night now. Hang in there, and remember this is a temporary thing and it will end.
Having you return to work is undoubtedly a huge adjustment for your little one, as presumably you've been her primary caretaker to this point.
We coslept and all slept peacefully together. I have 3 kids and this has worked for us with each baby, and everyone gets great sleep.
Goodness, it's been so long since I've needed to know the specifics that I don't have any info graphics.
La Leche League always was considered a reputable source for guidance. If you are in any mom groups on Facebook you can also try asking there.
