If you support the mission and have evidence to show that, then you def qualify to apply
Now, you’re going to need to show more evidence than just community service. You also need to show how you advance underrep minorities in the professional space too.
I'm a Consortium member, and doing "some community service" isn't enough. Everyone has tutored an inner-city kid at least once in their lives lmao 🙄—that's barely anything tangible to show you "support" the mission.
Based on your wording and previous coffee chats I've done with prospective students, I can immediately tell you haven't demonstrated actual commitment to uplifting URM.
This is some weird gatekeeping and can be very discouraging to folks who are trying to do the right thing. OP should absolutely try applying for consortium and we should be uplifting those who go out of their way to help others, regardless of how much someone arbitrarily asserts their commitment level.
Does your community service align with their mission? Not that you support it, rather is this what your community service does?
The Consortium’s mission is to expand access and increase representation in MBA programs and across the business world. To be granted membership, applicants must demonstrate a commitment to this mission through meaningful and sustained impact.
Are you able to write an essay on this and also get a referral from someone that says you do this?

Appreciate the context. Sry if I didnt elaborate enough in the post, the community service was a nonprofit that I’ve worked with for the last 3 yrs and they primarily targets first-gen (regardless of race), i wasnt sure how specific the connection has to be to qualify. Good reminder that professional examples also work, didnt mean to sound arrogant.
At the end of the day - no one knows your story better than you do. You can, and should apply through the consortium. The worst they can do is decline your consortium app. Remember that consortium decision has no bearing on your school acceptance, as these are two separate decisions. Also, you will walk away with a streamlined app, leas app fees, and less stress for your recommenders.
