Most republicans are ashamed of supporting this lunatic today. Hence they are quiet. Some of them are shameless and are still supporting Trump. Maybe it’s sunk cost that hasn’t sunk in yet.
People are angry. Tens of millions of Americans believe there was material and pervasive fraud in the election. Instead of pausing and trying to assuage concerns and assess irregularities (like 50-100k ballot dumps going entirely to Biden), we saw politicians try and rush certification. The courts are afraid of taking the case because they fear rioting and the terrible optics of disenfranchising black votes. It’s pretty dang clear that a fraudulent election should not stand, but what are you supposed to do when the powers that be are unwilling to act?
Read as: "Nobody can prove to me that the election was legitimate. I won't believe it even if Republican states audit the results, republican leaders say it was legitimate, or republican judges tell me Trump has no evidence. Democrats pulled off millions of fake votes right under Republicans noses. I just know it!"
And by fraudulent election you mean an outcome you disagree with. Pretty much every shred of evidence trump has suggested has been disproven. Also, I'm assuming you support BLM as well given your response suggests that when the powers that be don't listen it's okay to riot.
Trump and others within the party incited violent riots, that’s indisputable. But for me perhaps more disturbing was the number of people who could be swayed to do something like that. Where is the personal responsibility and critical thought? This is something missing from American society. BLM also rioted and terrorized. People on the right and left are increasingly polarized, hostile toward each other, and superficial and extreme in their views. There is no nuance and open discussion. How do we confront this? The media? Educational institutions?
How did you spin the 7 months of violence (including the murder of children) perpetrated by Biden supporters?
