Multiple problems with the sweeping vaccine mandate. First, it’s coming solely from the executive branch with no input from the legislature. Biden’s not a king, despite his delusions that he is one. Second, the “temporary” nature of this vaccine mandate isn’t really temporary since vaccines are irreversible. So if we find out there’s long term side effects from the vaccines, we’ve condemned tens of millions of Americans to suffer from those side effects. Third, the concept of informed consent is a big part of medical ethics. It means that somebody should be getting a medical procedure (such as getting the Covid vaccine) voluntarily, and there should be no coercion. Threatening someone’s job and livelihood over vaccination status can be interpreted as a form of coercion.
You're not a legal associate, eh?
Vaccines, mandatory or otherwise, are a part of history dating back to our founding fathers. If it was good enough for George Washington it's good enough for today. Our freedoms stem from them, and we're now violating their vision
This is an interesting take. Unfortunately, legal precedent by the Supreme Court in 1904 (Jacobson vs. Massachusetts) determined that “one man’s liberty cannot deprive his neighbors of their own liberty” (by allowing the spread of disease)… and “On any other basis, organized society could not exist with safety to its members. Society based on the rule that each one is a law unto himself would soon be confronted with disorder and anarchy”
Who knows what today’s Supreme Court would decide, but there is current precedent for any vaccine mandates to be upheld.
