There are parts of my job I find interesting, so I don't view it as something utterly awful. That's good so far as it goes, but I couldn't say I find any meaning in it, and very seldom would there be any joy. It's a job, the purpose is to make a living, and that's fine. I do things on my own time that I find meaningful, and I suppose that's the way it is for a lot of people.

i agree with you!
If money were no object, I would probably keep my job for awhile with conditions (like more flexibility). I genuinely like it, adore the people I work with, but am a bit fed up with company politics. If that didn't work out, I would go work with a local theatre company and follow my passions!

im super bad at politics, i hate playing the game. I would come see your shows!
It's important insofar as it allows me to provide for my family and do what I'm passionate about outside of work. I don't feel some great sense of purpose every day I head to the office, and I'm okay with that. I have enough going on outside of work that I'm fine with my 9-5 being a means to an end and nothing more.

im starting to have this mindset too :)
