Joined a big firm (Big4) not long a go and starting to feel like I got a good grip on my current work.

I've always been very technical, so I think that the only thing I am missing now is making sales. (I really wanna make partner)

Can any seasoned lawyer share tips and materials (i.e. books) which can help?

Would it be a good idea to join a Social Club where potential clients spend time? (gym/tennis/paddel/events)

Do the partners you work with get to see your self-evaluation or does it only stay with the review committee? If the former, how soon after you submit your self-evaluation do the partners get to review it?

On the verge of leaving law but getting cold feet. Could someone talk with me? I feel like it’s just a matter of not getting good mentorship but I’m concerned my feelings might not change elsewhere. I just don’t know. I wish I could just have a mentor and guidance

Anyone have recommendations for ADHD coaches, preferably focused on managing it in a senior-level role? Also preferably if focused on the female ADHD experience. Open to remote coaching with folks in other locations but I'm based in NYC.

So I had HR discussions after tech and managerial round and she said, she will have to get approval from management for salary discussions as it’s on the higher side as per my YOE.

Well, I was on an onboarding call and they were talking about staffing and projects. The presenter said to reach out to them if you don’t think your project is a good fit. In his words “you were hired into the firm, not a specific project. We see you here long term... With the exception of PDM model” 😅

Where do you find the time to get everything done in the day when you have multiple partners, associates and equity partners that interrupt you and want things turned around immediately while simultaneously working on deadlines? I feel like I’m the only one that can’t manage a 70+ case load without letting someone down. I constantly have to say “Can I do this tomorrow?” Etc. I don’t even have time to bill on the clock. I work until 7p at least every night. Top 10 family law firm.

Hi all! need some advice about my partner. He says he’s stressed out about this election because researching the candidates is exhausting and the media is biased. He said he doesn’t have any reasons pro trump rn, and his only reason pro Biden is climate change. And his reasoning behind that was that in 30 years he doesn’t want any of his properties to be uninsured/some damages not be covered if it were to be affected by climate change. For background, his dad is pro trump. Do I stay with him?!
