Memories are longer than you think, and holdco agencies always check prior employment. If you sued them once, you’ve already cost them money, time and aggravation. Legal would never advise we hire someone who previously sued us. Ever. They wouldn’t advise we hire anyone who sued any prior agency.
Genuine question @VP1, maybe it's a dumb one but, given the circumstances, is it really a "big liability" ? Anyone in this position because of what their employer did behind the scenes using them to commit fraud and assets frozen is a bit different than like, he-said she-said claims of harassment or unfair treatment or something. The people responsible were fired before we even found out what happened. The company admitted and claimed it was that particular office's management who acted alone
I know on the surface, "lawsuit" screams "no way" but, surely a reasonable person would see the details and understand the whole who what why
Just wondering if that kind of thing would ever be taken into account...
I’d apply.
I figure there are three outcomes if you do- you’re on the list and won’t get it. You’re not on the list and don’t get it. Or you’re not on the list and you do get it.
If you don’t go for it, you def won’t get it.
There was no clause I couldn't work there again but the five of us that were used in their scheme had a pretty big Nope on our names for awhile in their entire network.
We had no idea they were doing this until they were audited and we were questioned. NDA only covered settlement details so, internally I think they can still see that whole debacle. My AD wants to team up and go to a different shop in their network that's hiring when we get axed in the next round of layoffs.
Is it even worth trying? Does this stuff get buried under paperwork after awhile?
It's against the law to do that. Of course they would never admist that is what's going on.
I think most of the companies/networks have “A List” that sits in a secret buried folder in the network server.
Any chance you'd be willing to ask your HR to "check a name on the list" and see if they say there is one? 😅 now I'm curious
I thought Publicis was the one holding company that was doing well in this market. I’m interviewing at one of the agencies under them. Should I be concerned?
Depends on the office and accounts. If your workload drops or client cuts budgets because of tariffs, you're cooked. We already lost people, more layoffs are being announced in our office
You will never get hired there. Look elsewhere.
