Depends on how long you have been at your firm. It didn’t take me too long: 2-3 hours. You don’t have to be too detailed and they will ask follow up questions if there is a potential conflict.

It can take a while.

Forever. Almost made me want to stay where I was instead of filling it out

It’s a pain, but oversimplify as much as you honestly can.

About two weeks but I was billing quite a lot at that point

A few hours if you hunker down and commit to it. It’s not that bad - just tedious

So, I just joined a startup. No processes, no clear strategy, just one goal: selling. Getting leads. When ever I try to build a strategy, they (founders) swamp me with blablabla stories and not a single action plan. Is this the usual at startups? Also,no real company culture. At all. No HR. I am reaaaally struggling to get a sense of belonging here. What should I expect?? Tia

Random partner asked a litigation-related question to a partner I frequently work with (i’m a transactional associate). My partner cc’d me and said for me to briefly look. Asked the library. They got me a great case. Sent it back. Now the random partner is asking for more cases in another circuit.

First year trainee here. Having the standard wobbles but generally surviving.

My question is - how can I tell if I'm doing well? More specifically, what common and avoidable mistakes (specific or general) do trainees make, and what attitude or actions impress you?

Recently overheard some associates complaining about another trainee and now I have the fear... I want to get this right. Thanks in advance.

Boomer. I am in between jobs. Laid off in 10/21 after 16+ yrs, with an ABA firm. RIF. Still on excellent terms. Took my time living off generous package and didn’t seriously start applying until 01/22. Made a rookie mistake and accepted first offer.
Turns out job wasn’t as advertised. Mutual parting of ways 3/22. Due diligence is critical.
Now interviewing a LOT. Some temp work, I still have “it”. I relate to all gens. Willing to mentor AND learn from all. Tech savvy, CTE from day one. Leads?
