Faced this weird behaviour from Optum recently. Gave interview for Data Scientist position. HR said feedback is positive. Asked for documents. It's been month now since I have shared the documents. I have no update on the offer. Today I called HR, she called me back saying the position is on hold due to recalibration in team, She has shared interview feedbacks to other teams and will get back to me in couple of days. I am clueless now. My last working day is approaching (In a month). Any Help??
Any opportunities in renewable energy?

Wouldn’t have an issue with someone doing this internally if they (a) were explicit about it, (b) were doing it for the purpose of taking a note afterwards and (c) deleted the recording promptly thereafter.

Also have ADD so I’m sympathetic and would love to do this BUT would be totally skeeved out if a colleague stated recording me. Just learn to take better notes.

I seem to recall that this is an ethical violation in some jurisdictions.
Luckily not in TX
I would definitely look into the ethics of recording without getting the consent.

Wait you’re doing this unilaterally, without consent?!? Holy ****. It might not be “illegal” but it’s 100 percent a breach of trust. I would be LIVID. And I would absolutely not work with you.
I’m not sure about corporate, but this would def raise eyes in a lit setting. Creates a significant privilege/disclosure risk
What program do you use to record?

Do you hand write or type your notes during calls? I find that typing helps me capture most of what is being said.
I agree with everyone that it could cause major issues if people found out you were recording without their consent. I also have ADD and the best method I’ve found is to just literally transcribe conversations as best I can.

Recording without consent can carry criminal penalties in some states.
