Sometimes. Sometimes it’s a hassle so i just reorder the item at the cheaper price and take it back, which is an even bigger hassle so I’m not sure why i do this.
Just get a credit card that does that for you automatically
This is why I want to marry a fellow accountant who will go through all that hassle for me...
I have never done that. It never really occurred to me. I have seen something that I recently bought go on sale, buy it on sale and return it with the old receipt. Assuming it was in the return period. Granted, unusually but things on sale to start with. I would just feel awkward about it. Like what sort of amounts are we talking?
You should feel bad.
I do this for big things. Dollars add up man. I price adjusted my appliances twice when we got them for the kitchen got like $1000 back
Just called to get an adjustment and was told the policy is 10 days so now i remember why i employ the reorder method
Just did that yesterday
My wife monitors prices and calls in often and I'm concerned they'll hate us or ban us. Am i being paranoid?
Why?
Agree that the dollars add up. It actually really easy. The only time it's a hassle is if person on phone does not know policies and they say no

It does all that for you
Don't feel bad at all. The only thing you're doing by not calling is fattening another's pockets.
Some of the big credit cards have price protection as a benefit. Just remember to keep your receipt. You need to setup the purchase after it’s completed on your CC website, upload the receipt, and then monitor for changes. Some can adjust for 60/90/120 days depending on your CC
PwC1 - which credit card does that automatically ?
Price monitoring is offered with Citi prestige card. Kind of a pain to upload receipts and such but it adds up
I have it on my Citi DoubleCash card, but that’s a common benefit across most cards. As soon as you buy something, just login to your account and record the purchase. It will monitor for prices changes for a specified period (30,60,90 days) to see if a lower price becomes available. If it finds a lower price it will refund the difference
