I don’t think they will be automatically promoting anyone... they would never do that. More likely they will just continue their trend of spending more time in roles. 3-5 years manager 3-6 years SM and then who knows how many at Director prior to partner. Don’t feel like this increases the time they keep you. If you don’t make PwC your life above all else you’ll get coached out. Seen it happen to way too many folks who wanted to spend a tiny bit of time with their family...
Just another way for Timmy to cheap us out of the money we deserve. I'm sure my promotion raise from manager to senior manager will be much smaller now that there is a director level. And all those poor folks getting "retitled" will get screwed over because they won't get the promotion bump that those beneath them will eventually get. Please just take away some of the crap "benefits" like identity theft protection and discover and well being rewards and give me cold hard cash. I don't value these benefits as much as I would a pay increase!
Lmao Tim Ryan is such a fucking shitshow
Gives you guys a few more years before they tell you that you are not partner material and get counseled out
We would all take the cash, but PwC will never pay us perks in cash. I already drink myself into a medical coma every open tab. These things are part of our comp
Answers to 2 questions are PwC is not doing this for cost reasons and this does not increase the time for path to partnership. My response is then why add senior manager? Essentially you won’t get paid the director salary for a few extra years. This place is going downhill...
Discover sucked. Would much rather have the cash. The whole week was people not in public accounting describing fairy tales about how we need to take care of ourselves during busy season. Don't get me wrong, sounds nice, but totally impractical and impossible in this line of work. One partner in particular suggested we have mandatory nap times during busy season. That's where he lost me, and i realized the week was a joke.
Oh retitle is different. Promotion implies big salary bumps. That’s not happening under Tim Ryan. Gotta keep those partner checks fat and getting fatter!
@PWC2 - Interned last summer lol. The chances you realiatically stay until Senior Manager is very small I wouldn't sweat it.
Discover should go. It's such a waste! Especially when you think of the cost per senior. Wouldn't you much rather have the cash?!
They say the pay won’t change but how could that be adding in another promo year? Either the promo raise sucks or the SMs will get paid less.
But I don't. I don't trust the firm. Not at all.
No doubt Discover is next to go.
Are you all really planning on being at PWC in 2019? That's over a year away.
Pwc4 I don’t think you understand the retirement. Why the hell would they keep the current assurance senior managers as senior managers when introducing essentially a level below them? Senior managers are currently the equivalent of directors, in different lines of service. If they didn’t retitle the senior managers it would be like demoting all of them.
You guys are missing the point. They are now making Director a pass through slot and not a destination . It gives the firm a longer look before they pull the partner lever. It will continue to take more and more time to b a partner
Senior managers are getting constantly told to leave and some of the best are being told they don’t have room for them at Partner so they are leaving too. Terrible place to be now. No growth opportunities anymore. Seriously starting to look now after being here 10 years. Not the place it use to be
So sen mgr is no longer the same as director
Interned last summer. Wtf!
Hey everyone - hang on here. No one is trying to screw people over bonuses. If you read the new levels communication carefully you will realize this is to make sure the firm has consistent levels across the globe across all servicelines. Also - staying at Director level for several years before you make Partner is demoralizing. And unproductive for the firm. Instead, have a step to senior manager and then Director on your path to being a Partner. Number of years to be a Partner will still be the same. So bonuses, salary increments are all the same way.
