Hi Fishes, Y.O.E 7.5+ years. Tata Consultancy TCS is offering 25LPA including variable pay and everything. So just 15% increment on my current salary since they mentioned I am leaving my current organization within 1 year.
They mentioned 8-12% is VP plus 80k from that salary is paid at the end of each year. Is it a good enough salary for 7.5+ yoe candidate. Also any heads up for the things I should look out for will be really helpful.

Toronto ad fish 🤠 I’ve spent most of my career working as a copywriter in London (6 years here, 2 years Toronto) and the market is pretty different here. I’m planning on moving back home but wondered….how do you find work in Toronto? Agencies barely post openings, is the recruiter scene strong? Is it mostly who you know?

I use it all the time.
Never keep exactly what it writes but I prompt it as a frame of reference to speed things up. It helps me get the ball rolling and then I change (most times heavily) what it writes. I’m also aware of what sounds too much like an AI writing something, once you use it enough you can see it too.
When it comes to big ideas it’s truly awful at that, though I do bounce my ideas off it and get some valid perspective on them. Like what criticisms could from this, what could make it better, etc…. I treat it like I’m the CD working with a junior or it’s a partner I bounce ideas off. It’s sped up a lot of things for me.
I feel not great about it but also happy to have it as a tool. I think maybe in some capacity I’m training it but I’m overworked and underpaid soooo 🤷. It’s complicated!
People notice (trust me)
When I use it, I don’t include the client brand name in the prompt for some paranoid reason.
But also I mostly use it as a thesaurus, word association or phrase finder. Rather than all the sites I used to use.
I use it a lot tbh, in the same ways mentioned above. I also use it like a CD/creative partner and get it to interrogate my ideas and poke holes. It never says anything too interesting or that’s not obvious but it still helps.
The more I use it for tactical stuff, the dumber I think I get it tho. It’s very easy to get lazy
I have a similar deal to Senior Copywriter 1. Conflicted and don’t love using it but it is useful as a jumping off point, especially for quick, tactical work. I also kind of use it as a thesaurus, to see what words it gives me that might spark another thought. But I never actually use what it gives me.
I use it frequently to write PR lines or one-liners for big ideas when I’m boarding up concepts. I’ll often loosely write one myself to frame up what I’m generally looking for and will add in additional details or the vibe I’m after, then ask for 10-15 versions. There’s usually one in there that has good bones that I’ll craft on my own. It’s nothing more than a helpful tool to speed things along.
Use it all the time for starting points and just edit the output into good lines. Helps for the day to day stuff and getting your brain going in different directions. You can just prompt it to get to a good enough place and then edit from there.
I use it as Google, as a thesaurus, maybe to find an insight or confirm an insight, and for naming and tactical headline writing exercises.
When it comes to writing, 90+% of what it spits out is garbage. But it sometimes gives me a starting point or something I can edit into a better line or name.
I think it’s hilarious that people are justifying its usefulness but also making sure people know it supposedly can’t replace them.
“Oh I use it all of the time but 90% of its output is garbage but it’s still good as a starting off point but of course it can’t replace an actual writer but also don’t worry I heavily edit everything it outputs cause it’s AI cause it mostly sucks but yes I use it all of the time”

You’re right that’s so hilarious
Never
The marketing science team in the agency I work at now has asked us to use it. As many have already mentioned. It's just another tool in the toolbox, not a total replacements of a writer. No different than using spell check, a dictionary, google search, etc.

It’s helpful but I still need to edit heavily before it’s up to standard
