Are skills in MDM on the rise? What technical skills should be learned in addition to create a transferable skill set?

I’ll clarify MDM with Master Data Management instead of Mobile Device Management :-)

Learn Microsoft endpoint manager AKA Intune and integrations with ConfigMgr aka co-management. It’s the future of SCCM, endpoint management for managed, unmanaged devices, And possibly cloud based GPOs.

There is always demand for people who knows principles of mdm regardless of the tool

like

MDM, Catalog, Governance will always have it’s place as a concept and practice but I’m seeing significant change in the market from a few vectors
1) The concept of “Single Version of the truth” is being left behind with Teradata and Informatica and SAP in abandoned data centers. Companies are realizing that multiple definitions need to simultaneously exist and be governed
2) Transparency is key to success more so as multiple definitions need to simultaneously exist
3) Context is more important that rules, relationships more than IDs. This is making legacy pay for rating - Gartner ranked, relational DB based vendors more obsolete.
4) Graphs & AI based MDM is now coming into its prime
5) MDM is now more integrated into operational systems and needs to support high throughout, super low latency, zero unavailability, high concurrency, etc like a web application

I’d invest my time in something else.

Learn how to cleanse data and spot irregularities when developing reports in tools like Tableau or PowerBI. Always find the single source of truth and make it available via an API so you know the data is right or wrong and correct it once and not everywhere

Hello, I am in USI GES tax at DUSI. I love my job but not my team and mgmt anymore. I'm a performer and I'm dumped with work of 2 ppl while others are searching for work. I am burned out.

I resigned and accepted a job with EY GDS with a huge pay bump that DUSI can't match but I also gave up my potential promotion for 2023.

I've been feeling bad about putting my papers down and letting go off my promotion but I am really tired. I took up this job as an escape.

Did i do the right thing?

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
