I have 2 years of Indian experience as a Data Analyst .I have knowledge of tools like Sql,Tableau,Excel and Python. I have recently moved to Toronto Canada. My dream job is to become a Data Scientist. I am looking for jobs right now as a Data analyst. Do you feel I should take time off from job hunt and work on gaining more skills to apply for Data scientist positions??
Should I enrol myself into a school(if so please suggest) ? OR should I just get a job as a Data Analyst??

Heyy does anyone have any tips for an entry level media planner? I graduated last year and landed a FT offer at an agency. I’ve been working from home for almost a month now and honestly it has its pros and cons. Not only is it harder getting to know your team, but there haven’t been much guidance from my manager and the lingo takes some time to get use to. Is our industry as competitive as some say? I see a lot of people saying this and I work with a bunch of hacks (myself included). It felt like a little while ago agencies were begging to hire new talent, and most couldn’t find new people. Is it really that hard to get a job at an agency? Maybe I’m just out of touch being in this career for so long.

Community, I’ve been meeting with a lot of people regarding next steps in my career. One of the best pieces of advice I received is to avoid micro-managing executive staff (agency leadership), as it puts downward and unwelcome pressure on people’s managers and ultimately oneself. Based on your experience in the last 2 years are there:
- Agencies you would steer clear from because their leadership micromanages
- Agencies you would recommend because their leadership gives you room to grow
