Sometimes it’s better to stick with the devil you know, but I don’t think the title matters all that much. Your career progression will depend on where you exit to so it could be just as fast or faster than consulting, esp if you’re a high performer. Interview around and see how it all goes.

To add, I worry that if I leave for industry now, my career progression will be sooo much slower. So I’d basically be trading one more year of hell for a faster promotion.

Exactly where do you want to progress to? People throw out career progression like every ends up in the C-suite. Ate you talking title, money, responsibility, budget, number of people you manage? What benchmark are you using to determine the rate of progression?

Good point. I guess title, comp, and people mgmt.

It's pretty significant. Getting that promotion industry is pretty hard. Also the benefit of getting it in consulting is that you're not going to be a great manager at first, but because you restart with every project you learn quickly, and will be much more likely to succeed when you do go to industry.
