How’s experienced hire (PL/EM+) forecasting into 2023? Thinking of back up plans if things go haywire in the next 2 months.

Have been keeping this in my back pocket as well. In cloud pro serv and am working equal hours to when I was in consulting.

Are both of you previously from consulting? And thinking of coming back?

Are you guys MBB alum? If so your forms should welcome you back with open arms. If you’re non-MBB ex consultants trying to break into MBB that will be more tough, as I don’t imagine experienced hiring will be strong for the foreseeable future

That will probably be very hard tbh if i had to guess. Experienced hiring was very much a COVID boom thing since we couldn’t fill our need for consultants w only campus hires. I don’t see that being the case again for a while.

Were you an M at your T2 firm?

I think it’s not looking positive tbh. Mostly because M+ hires was an emergency measure and, from what I can tell, has had mixed success across firms. It’s a really hard position to just jump into.

Was an M back in 2016. Left as P

Hey folks,
Recieved a mail from Nagarro for “what excites you”. I’m a front end developer, shall I just add my 3 interests for technology?
They also have option to set preferences for “Colleagues”, “Line of Business” & “Multi national team”. Is it fine if I just fill in tech preferences or do I need to fill the rest of them as well?

Alright gents, quick opinion how valuable is a WMCP & Chfc designation

8 YOE in tier 2/3 consulting jobs.
Always a top performer, but I’m assuming that will change at MBB......what are tips to get comfortable being an average performer and being okay with it? I’m not worried about the “ego” side of things, but I am worried bc my personality is to work hard until I’m a top performer and I am scared I might burn out doing that...

Mckinsey 🐟, what is the difference between a consultant (mid level, say senior associate or EM specialised in an industry vertical) and an expert / specialist, in term of tasks / responsibilities on a project McKinsey & Company

Do you recommend a Joint Degree? I got accepted as an ACI and am probably getting ahead of myself, but I would love to do an MBA while doing an MS in Electrical Engineering. If I were to be given a full offer and perform well enough to be sent on MBA, would this be feasible? Would Bain pay for it if it was Joint?

What’s Risk Dynamics like at McKinsey & Company?

1. Do you actually actively program for your projects? (beyond basic Pandas, perhaps) or is the job mostly basic excel + some data visualization?

2. What’s work life balance like?

3. Are there much traveling involved? (Pre-covid/possibly after covid)

After getting a referral submitted, should I be expecting an email with a link soon? If so, how long does that take? This is for BCG and Bain

I recognize this is a touchy subject and I’m prepared to be wrong, but for MBA internships at MBB, I’ve noticed (anecdotally) that most of the folks who got offers from my M7 school fall into one of the “URM” demographics. Given that these firms are working harder than ever to hire diverse classes, do they try especially hard to “lock in” those candidates through the internship before they’ve been recruited elsewhere to other firms/industries?

For folks who moved to MBB to tier 2 - how did you tell the story on why moving ? BTW - not getting transitioned

For anyone that is looking for people to practice case studies/pei with- I have a discord built to help people find partners.

Most are prepping for McKinsey, but can find some applying to different areas as well.

I only have 3 rules for it:
1. Be respectful (remember it's a diverse group. Be PC)
2. If you schedule a time, commit to it (no call/no shows result in an automatic ban)
3. No unsolicited messages to people that received offers for a free case session

Hey MBB fish,
I’m considering making the switch to MBB and wanted to understand what training and development look like at these firms. Came to consulting post b school and there’s been almost no support to learn the actual job and want to see if that’s unique to my firm or if you’re always expected to learn as you go.

What is your firm policy regarding living near an office? I’m needing to move back to my home state to take care of aging parents, but my current firm requires close proximity to office location.
