When I found myself in a stressful job, I started saving up every penny and did some budgeting to see how much I would need for a job transition fund. Once I was in a good place, I would repeat these words to myself on my way out the door in the mornings “YOU are in control. YOU can quit at anytime. This WILL be temporary.” And somehow the illusion of control helped me power through w/o actually quitting.
THIS!! ^ I just recently did the same! Have an emergency fund so you have the freedom to quit when needed and you’ll feel so much better :)
Remind yourself that we’re in advertising and at the end of the day, it’s usually not that serious.
Ask your supervisor how you can better prioritize tasks to avoid the feeling of overwhelm.
Determine if it’s the job itself, the internal team, or the client burning you out. If you can isolate exactly what the stressor is, sometimes agencies have the ability to help. Ie if your client is a known disaster, some people have success eventually being moved to another account. Not a guarantee, but worth flagging if you’ve got a supportive manager.
Try to create room to relax/enjoy yourself outside of work. Put yourself first when and where you’re able to. Get some extra rest on the weekends if you can.
What’s the bigger source of stress? Your boss and internal team or your clients or something else?
