Got promoted last year in October. Got an offer back in March 2021. My current company retained me stating that they will promote me in October but compensated me with a cash bonus. Things took a wrong turn and I landed up in a shitty project.Zero technical growth.
Got another offer similar to previous one. Location is my hometown. Profile is good.
If I resigned, I will lose the retention bonus & won’t be getting paid for the next 3 months + festive season is starting.

Good LA recruiters?
This is one of the most common complaints in the biz. Perhaps THE most.
Some people just don’t know how to get to great. Maybe they did once or twice in their careers, but it mighta been dumb luck, right place, right time. A few flashes in the career pan. That’s how a lot people got their fancy, power positions.
Best I can say is find someone else to work for. Arguing taste is usually a dead-end.
F’it! Go take the day off! Go for a hike or run. Have a spicy BM and a corned beef on rye sammy. Watch Ozark. Then have a 2-hour Zoom Cocktail video conference with you’re 11th close friends. After that, you’re on your own.
You can keep your own work as concept work and just mention in the description that the client went in a different direction. It's the easiest way to get your ideas into your book for the world to see without them seeing all of the backend of office politics.
Caveat is that you HAVE to list it as concept work. Or else you're lying. But that still counts! Keep your head up :)

Is the work not getting sold, so you can’t get work for your book? Or is the work just not book-worthy after these ECD changes?
There are quite a few agencies I’ve worked at where this or something similar is the problem. Even though this might not be the desired outcome take the time to get a better handle at presenting to clients and what not to do. Learn as much as you can from the situation. It sounds like you are dealing with a political situation that might be out of your hands.
Also keep in mind that these are weird times. Agencies have been scrambling the last two years in particular. Talk to anyone whose been in this world for more than 10 years.
Lastly, consider yourself to be really fortunate to have a job right now as many of us are scrambling to pay our bills.
Usually when ECDs touch the work, they make it better. I mean they SHOULD have the taste at that point. Perhaps if you've got the opportunity, you might want to find an ECD or CD whose works you admire?
It’s extremely frustrating when you’re more junior to see your ideas get taken and bastardised and ruined by others. But that said, it’s part of the job and will always happen to some degree. And even though it feels like they always make it worse, sometimes they will make it better as well. Best I can suggest is that you try to see where they’re coming from. WHY they’re changing the work (trying to make it more on brief? more original?) and use that to learn and develop your own ideas further.
