Did you get your CDL through a drving school? They should have a job placement program because they often have more contacts with perspective employers then you would on your own. You also didn't mention if your willing to drive long distance as a truck driver? There are A LOT of trucking companies that will hire you to drive for them long distance even if you have no experience. They have their own training orientation program for two or three weeks and you will get paid during that time. Look up companies like Schneider Transport, JB Hunt, Werner, Western express, CRST and lots of others. If you only want a local hourly paid job, you're going to have to start small like a straight truck with your CDL B and prove yourself for months or years that you are a safe driver as you work your way up to some employer that trusts you with a tractor trailer which is much better pay then straight truck or dump truck. Even once you get some experience under your belt, its going to be very competitive to find a top paying local hourly job because thats what most drivers want and are fighting for, to be home every night and just work that day shift type schedule.
