North Salt lake, Bountiful, Farmington, Kaysville are all nice. West Valley is a little rougher around the edges.
No to West Valley, Ogden, or Brigham City.
West Haven, Kaysville, Layton, Farmington, Roy, Woodscross, Bountiful are clean safe areas.
My sister lives in North Salt Lake an likes it. Different parts have different feels. I live in the southern part of Salt Lake County in South Jordan. It’s a better fit for me. Each town is a little different. I would avoid West Valley if you have school aged kids. It’s a little tougher, although I used to work there and like it just fine. The food there is very good.
Yeah, just don’t do West Valley.
Alpine school district has good ratings
I would recommend Bountiful. Close to N Salt Lake & the cuty
I live in Farmington for the last 5 years and I love it. Even though it’s grown a lot over the past 10 years, it still has the small town feel I’ve come to enjoy.
I never felt in danger here and I find it to be very safe. The commute into SLC isn’t too bad and there are days where I commute in by FrontRunner.
We have community events all the time like fall festival at Knowlton Elementary and Farmington Festival Days on Main Street. These events contribute to that family friendly small town vibe I looked for when I first moved here.
Our kid is not old enough yet for school, so I can’t comment on that.
Feel free to DM me if you want to know anything else about Farmington and why I like it.
Bountiful is largely LDS. If you are not, be mindful of that. Farmington is very lice. I here that Layton is less expensive.
Lol, moving to Utah and you don’t know what LDS is is just 😂
Latter-day Saints. Mormons. The biggest religious group in Utah.
Lehi is nice
Bountiful, Farmington are great locations. Prices of homes are high then say West Valley. In my opinion much nicer living. I love the area and think that perhaps you would as well.
Where are you moving from?
Texas
I have lived in West Valley City most my life, no more craziness than anywhere else. I suggest doing your research on the area, come stay with a friend or family if you can to look around. I have seen crazy things happen in North SLC and also Lehi area. I have 2 littles and we dont cause trouble and we are friendly to our neighbors! Best of luck on your home search!
In a recent survey kaysville was ranked number 3 of the safest cities to live in in the West USA iirc. Layton was ranked number 7. As for work opportunities it's really scarce unless you want to work like CNA for healthcare facilities. I've had a lot of friends and family lose their jobs earlier this year and they've been applying(like 1200 applications all put together) all around Davis and Weber county and they have not got any responses.
