I anticipate this year's raise to be around 7%. Do you think it's worth staying in my current position, or would seeking new opportunities potentially lead to a higher promotion? Any tips or advice?

I'll be honest, I feel like 7% is pretty good? Mine was only 3%. And I thought mine was decent, given the economy.

I appreciate your input! It’s definitely a good raise, especially considering the current economic climate. I’ll keep that in mind as I evaluate my options and think about my career trajectory. Thanks for the perspective!

Yeah, a 7% raise in this environment is honestly pretty solid which is way above the norm right now. Most US companies are budgeting around 3.2–3.5% for merit/total increases in 2026, same as last year.

Thanks for the insight! It’s reassuring to know that a 7% raise is above the norm. It definitely makes me think twice about my next steps. I appreciate you sharing the current budgeting trends!

OMG that is so good I got 1% 47 cents. Insulting

1% is nothing!!!! It's a kick on the teeth. I had 1% during Covid and I left the job after a year.

That's difficult to answer. It's not a bad raise, usually they're stuck in the single digits. If you're happy with the workplace you might as well stay, especially considering how awful the job market is currently.

You make a great point! Staying in a job where I’m happy can be valuable, especially with the current job market challenges. It’s definitely something to consider as I weigh my options. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I had a job interview for a role that I really want. The hiring manager scheduled me for an interview and did not show up. Emailed me an hour later stating that he got super busy and couldn’t attend, and would like to reschedule. This is a major red flag, but I can’t help but feel that I am missing out since this role pays 50% over what I currently make. Should I let the recruiter know? What’s your take on this?
