I applied to a well known company. Got an email from HR for a screening. Replied but then was immediately set up to interview with the hiring leader. I did interview with the hiring leader and was great. So I skipped screening and went straight to round 1. I reached out to HR about the screening and still nothing. Has this happened to anyone else?

If you leapfrogged over the screening call it seems like they assumed you were a good candidate and skipped that formality. If you're in the interview process you might as well not worry about it. I never had that happen, but it seems like something that could happen in some cases.
