Easy, just hit the No Tip, nothing to stress about

Hate it, it’s designed to manipulate/guilt the customer which it does for some, but I feel no obligation, restaurants cool, donut shop… no. Just went to a donut shop where they add a 10% service charge to provide “livable wages”, but it still had an option to tip, come on, you put a donut in a box! Just raise the prices, pay your wages, and leave it at that
Being anti-tip isn’t “making a statement” or “rebelling against the system”. It’s screwing over one person. That’s it. The system should change, employers should pay their staff appropriately- but as of today, that’s not the case. I’ll never tell anyone how to spend their money but personally, I’ll give $1-2 to the person behind the counter. I don’t mind, I’ve worked in the service industry, I know it matters.

Yes. Especially when they usually have 20%, 25, and 30% as the options.

They didn't JUST push a button though. They had to clean and continue to clean the machines, the counters, the floors, restrooms, stock supplies, and ensure that your order was correct while doing so with a rapid pace.

Yes I understand the operative word is should. But I still don’t understand why I would have to tip employees extra for doing their jobs

at the coffee shop i always just hit no tip on the pad and shove a buck into the tip jar. if you weren’t already tipping your barista like a bartender before these things came around, you were doing it wrong.

Also for those who only get their coffee black, just gonna leave this here for you ---

As a black coffee drinker....
It's true, and all soy latte and frappuccino drinkers need to get out of our way in the coffee line, for your own safety.
Interesting how a lot of six-figure professionals are complaining about a tip. It could really make or break someone’s day. What’s so hard to tip to thank someone for their job? Whether it’s a dining establishment, grocery bagger, valet, restroom attendant. No one here receives performance bonuses?
If it’s easy to raise prices and pay people a fair wage, why not open a cafe and try it out? Or if you don’t have the money to tip, buy a coffee maker and make your coffee at home.

Earning high salary doesn’t mean we should spend our money unchecked.
Also why is it the consumer has the responsibility to support workers wage(and not the companies that hire them)?

This is where my mental math shines - 5% and 10% tips come in 2 seconds. (And I deduct tax from overall amount)
