Let’s talk WFH - is asking for two days a month on an ongoing basis (assuming no crazy client meetings or other pressing needs those days) unheard of or seem reasonable?
The pains of being on remote projects for 5 months: my fat ass can't fit into my dress pants anymore
Fairly confident I’ll get an in industry offer this week! Mixed feelings though... Main reason for leaving is WFH consulting just simply isn’t enjoyable. Getting harder for me to see the value in grinding for consulting. Is this short term thinking off? Do people think weathering this storm will give potential raises / promotions soon? I just don’t see consulting going back to what it use to be for ~2 years. I’m a consultant level going for promotion to manager.
Anyone looking for a Copy CD in Atlanta or remote? Available to start work immediately. Appreciate any leads you may have. Thank you!
To all my work from home peeps. I have two monitors connected to a home computer. But I also like connecting my work laptop to one of the monitors. Is there a hub I can buy that makes this easier??
How long do you think this will last? GT is remote up to 3/31, it will definitely go past that. My bet is summer, but some have said the rest of the year. Others until we get a vaccine. Thoughts?
What are your best WFH places in the US for cheap (no rental car needed preferred)? I used to stay at cheap Marriotts in Europe (5-10K per night) while at Accenture but now Deloitte won’t allow working outside of the country.
When you work from home and set the alarm for 9AM and consider that "sleeping in"... I feel old.
Really afraid that MBAs will go back to remote and that I will waste the opportunity to get the time of my life
Our office is moving to another building and is going to have a new “no assigned desk” policy. We just sit wherever we feel like sitting, like a 7th-grade cafeteria. Seems like their intention is good but also sounds like a terrible idea. Has anyone else’s office done this? Not even sure how I’ll be able to request a second monitor now
How many of you have flexible work arrangements where you're able to work from home one or more days per week?
Do you think your agency is gonna push up your return to office date (if you’re still wfh) because of the recent CDC guidance 🤔
Adapt and evolve to remote working - way more PRODUCTIVE, EFFECTIVE and EFFICIENT. No wasted time on commutes, non-sensical open-floor distractions and now more rested body and mind. Time management and mental health strategies are key.
Any of my fellow fishies head to their home state / get out of the city and work remote during all this craziness? If so, when do you think you’ll go back? I’m not keen on the prospect of heading back to the open office...
Anyone use superside hq or do work with them? Curious about it being a good route for remote work..
Full Remote Positions for CA attorneys WYA? I know KE and WSGR are offering full remote, where else all the big law boyz at working fully remote?
Any Product Managers that have experience transitioning to full time remote before the pandemic? I would like to negotiate with my employer to allow me to do this.
Starting a project next week after a long holiday break, I need to learn how to be a working professional again 😂
Any leads on Accounting or Finance jobs in the industry? Only 1 year of Big 4 experience under my belt and I’ve hit rock bottom due to exhaustion and lack of work life balance with a family.
What’s an industry appropriate raise? What are the determining factors? I just got a 3% raise, no promotion or title change after two years of working here. I was expecting a lot more. I guess I just want to get a pulse for what others get on average.
Hi I am having some trouble on choosing between Deloitte and PwC for a 2022 winter internship. Some pros for Deloitte include being the largest firm, and the promotion to senior being 2 years opposed to 3 at PwC. Additionally, Deloitte offers a pension and has Deloitte university. The pros of PwC include a gym in the office and a younger work force. They also give me much less of a “corporate” feel and seem to offer more flexibility. I’m wondering if anyone could give me any advice on deciding?
I’m starting at a new firm (midsized, 150+ attorneys). How can I build strong ties to the firm and connect with staff and fellow attorneys? I don’t feel like I did that at my last firm and that is part of what made it so easy to leave.
Just wanted you guys to know that this bowl is a godsend! I posted a while back about failing HR screenings. Everyone gave really helpful advice that I've implemented and I've been able to make it to multiple final round interviews
Ladies have you ever fallen for a guy over text? This guy is so hot and cold with me and we’ve never met - but have such a great time texting. It’s so confusing. He lives 4.5 hours away from me and works 6 days a week (sometimes 7). We were supposed to meet some time back and then his mom got sick and then I got covid and then he got this job... and we never met again. What do I do ? He rarely ever initiates conversations these days, but when I do message him he’s on a roll.
What are your thoughts on the value of a Harvard Extension School degree vs. a standard online MBA from a reputable public university? I feel like the Harvard name carries a lot of value....
When interviewing at other companies — and you're asked to share examples of your work, how do you go about this without violating any NDA. I have an interview next week with a team at X company, and they'd like to record the interview to share with other members of their team. Any advice?
What's a typical non promotion and non covid year raise? Used to work at Big 4 and now at a boutique. Feel like Big 4 raises were bigger than what I've been getting the last 2 years at boutique cont
EY, what is the current maternity leave policy? Does the firm allow leave starting at 38 weeks? Is disability (6-8 weeks) separate from parental leave (16 weeks)? When is full eligibility - after 12 months of employment?
What would be your thoughts on a company that rejected you on professionalism concerns for not wearing a suit to a video interview? Assume you wore a dress shirt with (or without) a tie?
TFW you're already sick of winter and realize winter hasn't even officially started yet.
I know how the exact salary of the cohort of homegrown senior consultants at a B4 for the same role that I’m applying for. how much more should i expect for experienced hires for this same role with same YOE?
I started in January and I already feel that this job is having a strain on my relationship. I’m still working weekends after busy season and my s/o is upset I barely spend time with them. The rest of my team is constantly working so I feel bad if I set my boundaries and take time off.
