The only genuinely safe conversation in the workplace would be when you're talking to yourself. And depending how loudly you mumble away, that may not be safe. I don't want to sound overly cynical, but let's be honest, everyone in an organization has their own interest and they work their own angles. You can trust people within reason, but if you say things that could be problematic there's no way to control where your words may go.
