What is one of the most frustrating parts of being a scientist or researcher?

I'll tell you what it is: referencing!

You have to do so much of it, and it's so annoying. You have to cite your sources, but there are so many different formats for citations! And then sometimes you don't even know how to cite something, and how are you supposed to know that unless you ask someone who knows? And even then, they might not be sure whether it should be an in-text citation or a footnote…

Found out I prob won't get my dream job ("waitlisted") and literally cried for an hour (I know I am a loser). I guess I didn't realize how much I hate my audit job lol. How have people gotten over rejection?

I currently work at a large research institution and am in the process of getting retroactively reclassified to a new title (Long story but my PI is cheap and routinely pays ppl the bare minimum so now the Union is helping me w/ a retro reclass.) Currently going to school for my cannabis certification but I rarely see any jobs that offer cannabis research.
