Thought this was interesting. Across 160 teams of researchers, just about all failed to make good life outcome predictions on things like GPA, evictions, layoffs, and others. Data followed 4.5k families across 15 years, with 13k features (varied over time). Haven't looked at it directly yet, but will be turning the docs and data inside out... In the meantime, authors claim this as showing the limits of ML. Oh, and it's published in PNAS, so you know there's some big publication energy there.

Career coaches often have little understanding of creative fields or how advertising agencies work. If they have actionable advice, consider it, but don't let them deflate you.
Maybe you can find a different coach more suited to your path.
It's also a very difficult job market for creatives at the moment. Hang in there.
What do you post?
I’m sorry. I feel in the same place.
I’m so so sorry. It’s very easy to feel discouraged about our career, especially when the job market is so hard right now.
Hang in there and put aside what they said to you for a bit, shake off the sting. Then, review the advice and see what’s worth trying. Best of luck to you.
This is very good advice. As a CD, do you do any hiring? What do you look for in a copy editor or copywriter? Any red flags you can think of?
