Not necessarily an anomaly. Just in the minority. Personally, I've kept the copywriter title despite leveling up to CD. I don't like playing title soup. I'm a copywriter. First and foremost. So that's what my title will be, until the day I age out.
I “won’t care” about title until I get Snr…
Have you only worked at one place and stayed as a "copywriter" as you aged up in money, responsibilities and autonomy?
If you switched agencies, don't they typically have to give you the title to get you into the pay band for the money you want, even if you don't want the title?
When you work with ECDs and CCOs, are there CDs and the usual layers in between?
Interesting, never ran into that negotiating new positions. And no, generally avoid heirarchy when I can - obviously some smaller projects are with CDs rather than direct to ECD.
I guess a better way to phrase my post is that I feel comfortable I'm operating as and respected as a senior, but have never been concerned about the adjective. And wondering if this is unusual or not recommended.
I think if you're changing jobs you should always look to get an increase where possible! That usually comes with a title change
How long have you been working? I don't care about titles either unless there's higher pay involved.
There's usually a higher pay involved if you're going from junior to senior copywriter!
