No one cares if you have 20 yrs experience. More years means they will age discriminate you.
No one cares about certificates either. They want to see that you have the experience for the job you are applying for. Assume they will not train you one bit and can you start getting the job done on day 1. So in your resume put things you’ve done directly related to the position.
These hiring managers are looking for unicorns so try to match that if you can.
It’s very ridiculous out there right now.
DA1- age discrimination is rampant
The problem with this industry is not the employer looking for someone, it’s that you give af too much. Fk these companies they’ve proven to the tech sector how big of snakes they are treating engineers like they’re disposable. Stop giving a fk about these companies show your true value when they are not able to hire you. Let them solve their own problems.
Tech is on life support and with offshoring and ai, it may never come back. Keep trying, but accept that and find something else to do with your life.

You have plenty of experience and use the onprem (physical experience) to your advantage, these are easily transferable but the key is showing your WORTH! Be positive that you’ll do well and prepare yourself.
As a hiring manager I value a candidate’s ability to deliver and find workarounds and answers. The intangibles like, trustworthiness, accountability, attitude, adaptable, character, reliable and communication.
The technical skills can be learned even if you’re a bit rough to start on a new role.
If you made it to the interview the company thinks you may be the right person to fill that role. The interviews are your opportunity to prove to them that you are the best choice out of all the candidates, and that's absolutely terrifying! You know there are candidates out there who are way better than you on paper. But companies don't just hire on what you've done but if you'll be a good fit for the team. I've won out jobs in the past where I shouldn't have had a chance, but I was still chosen.
