Agree with the first commenter. This country is not made to help us and times are so rough. I want to move out of the US so bad but my husband is not on same page.
Are you in a LCOL area? Not to minimize the struggle by any means, just shocked at that rate becasue that’s the cost of the low side for one kid in the DC area I live in. 🫠
I’m in SF and my local daycare charges $4000+ per child for the infant program 😂😭🤯☠️
It’s temporary mama! Do you have access to public full day preschool starting next fall for your older kiddo? That will help a ton if so. Only 1 year of the double daycare overlap, you can make some budgeting adjustments for this short period of time. It sucks though for sure.
Universal preschool starts in 2027 in CT.
Its the fact of life in the US. At one point we were paying the same. Its tough but remember its for a few tough years. Then once school starts it gets better. I know of many moms who decided to stay at home to save on the daycare fees but they had a hard time joining back the workforce.
Agree with a prior commenter. You have to remember this is temporary and not forever. It sorta helped me get through it. If you drop out of the workforce it will take years and years to get back to your current rate of pay.
Agree with M1 and SVP1 — it’s just for a few years. You may be just treading water or even losing money, but then they’ll start school and it’ll get better and you’ll still have your job.
