I have a chance to move into a more technical product area, but I’d be starting over in terms of domain knowledge and probably feel behind for a while. Staying where I am feels easier, but growth feels limited. Did anyone take a domain jump like that and feel it was worth the reset?

But the initial identification of user groups is something I find challenging. What’s your go-to way of doing this? For example, the question “design a podcasting app for truck drivers.” What types of truck drivers can I select so that I can prioritize a user group to focus on and begin identification of pain points and solutions?

A colleague told me today that Google separates Product Manager and Product Owner as two separate roles.
