Seems like it would be a good investment of your time to make one for this particular associate. Added bonus, you can reuse it for future associates.
Why don't you use a pretrial deadline chart so the associate knows what to once trials set? Can also use a trial setting order for associate to see what to expect.
Oh. Yes for sure. Tell them to shadow a paralegal and theyll learn everything they need.
Would like one for one of my associates too. Tired of reminding important due dates and task lists
What case management software are you using? Ours has integrated checklists for case deadlines/tasks
Explain to them to check the task list and ask colleagues how long they think that task should take to complete (add some time on top of that because they’ll be slower than most attorneys) and it’s on them to plan their time accordingly and determining if they need an extra hand for help at least a week before the task is due. Also make their deadlines artificially due a week before they’re actually due so you can account for review/revise time if they’re really that bad. If they don’t get better after that then they’re just not ready to be a professional.
