I was given a promotion 6mos ago & told that the position was a lateral move & a raise would be given at my 6 month mark. Throughout my time at time at this company I’ve realized that they call people in to give their raise on the exact date of milestones (i.e: 6 mos, 1yr, & so on). It’s now been one week since my 6 months in this new position. I’d like to reach out to my boss and set up a meeting to review my work & discuss a raise. Should I wait a bit longer or should I set this up now?

I was wondering what kind of role would be best step forward for an admin fellow.

I was offered a project coordinator role but feel I should not accept the same without looking at other options. I aim to seek out a project manager role and was wondering if this would be the wrong step forward.

Tldr; stay at toxic tech company with no career growth and launch my own business on the side, OR look for another job for career/seniority growth but lose on starting my own thing in parallel for now.

Context: joined a tech ent 4 months ago with an expected growth path, which isn’t the reality now that I’m in and see the toxic work culture. I have the doors opened at my previous job (agency) and could potentially go back to a more senior role, but the w/l balance suck

What is an exit opportunity that I should be looking for from audit to an accounting / finance role that is not the typical monthly close? I just got a decent offer for a stable unionized role, but I am still in the running for another role that I am more attracted to. Do I tell this other role that I have an offer or would that hurt my chances? I don’t want to burn bridges at either workplace, but I know there is probably at least another week or so until I find out if I get this other role.
For context, the first is a city job with good pay and great work/life balance and the second is competitive F500 company.

I know that many look to exit into Product Management, but I have never seen so many Project Management roles open. When I first got my PMP, it was difficult to find roles unless very senior. What’s going on the Project Management world now that there are so many openings with layoffs and (possibly) an impending recession?
