Is this an in-person interview? I had this exact same situation happen to me a few weeks ago and I reached out to reschedule. The hiring manager and HR person thanked me reaching out and told me they would not have appreciated me bringing my flu into their office.
If it is virtual then just take some cold meds and power through.
I think you should let them know you’re sick and reschedule - they won’t be able to evaluate you based on your true performance otherwise
If this is virtual:
1. If you go through with it and bomb, you definitely won’t get the job. How confident are you that you can pull it off?
2. If you reschedule , maybe you won’t get the job, but you still have the opportunity to impress them so maybe they won’t care that you rescheduled.
It seems 2 is the way to go unless you can pull it off while sick. If you come across obviously sick and this is in-person, reschedule.
If it is virtual, I would power through. If it is in person, I wouldn't go get anyone else sick. I am sure they will appreciate you rescheduling if you are sick.
If you don't think that you can get through the interview as you would normally, then I would reschedule. Yes, there is always that risk but they won't reschedule with you, but I would take that risk over going into someone's office coughing and sneezing and having that be their impression of me.
I would show up anyway to show them you always give 100% and how determined you are
I understand the anxiety but definitely reschedule! You'll perform better and feel better if you do the interview when not feeling so sick. Maybe offer when you'd be available so they know you are not ghosting.
If its in person definitely reschedule no one wants to catch it. Virtually.... idk how bad... if your brain is really lagging reschedule. If they are a good company you being sick is a reasonable accommodation for reschedule.... this is a test for them.
