In addition to my daily teaching job, I have an opportunity to become school administrator for Adult Ed night classes which run 3x per week from 6-9p. It pays roughly $5k/semester. I’d appreciate your thoughts/ suggestions/ concerns for this type of responsibility.

I never did adult ed. but I didn’t night school for high school dropouts. It was among the best administrative experience I’ve ever had. My advice to you is to take the time to know the people that you’re serving. Get a sense of what they are looking for and try to create courses that address those needs. Some of the individuals will come just looking for some kind of entertainment and fun while learning. Incorporate that into your program. Other young people may also come to look for skills that lead to certification in a particular area, offer those kinds of opportunities and draw on people who live in the community who can offer those services..

Really looking for a way to turn around a toxic building culture with staff to staff bullying, cliques/social isolation, hard feelings on big topics (racism, non acceptance of gender identity). Last year the staff polarized with the lead bully whom I helped leave. And the lead gossip (who was my secretary) that gained their sympathy and turned them against me. She also left. Now I need to regain trust and eliminate unacceptable teacher behaviors. Open to any and all advice.
