I’m 26 weeks pregnant and trying to figure out my leave. I live in NJ and work at PwC, any fishes know the policy for NJ and PwC? The leave center has not been much help and I want to plan NOW not like 60 days before. I was told NJ gets two weeks before due date and PwC gives you two weeks as well.

They offer “unlimited” PTO b/c it saves the company from having to pay employees unused vacation days when they lay them off. That’s the only reason they do it. Companies never do anything that doesn’t benefit them. Remember that.
Wow, can you achieve sexual arousal from how evil and conniving a corporation can get? If so, I think I'm in love. To think of the accountant that came up with that idea... give the plebs unlimited vacation and it'll end up saving us money. Unbelievable.
People tend to take less time off with unlimited vacation policies. So keep an eye on your time off and make sure you take it.
This might be possible, and also depends on what work culture you have got. If you are working on your interest and with your favourite product or service, then chances are low that you’re exhausted.
Make sure you use it! I’ve heard many don’t. I’m grateful my company supports work/life balance. It’s even a category on our reviews.
Mine just implemented this year as well. It's already been great for me. The one catch is nothing more than 3 consecutive weeks but that's fair. I think I'll end up taking around 40 days, three 2-week trips, and a bunch of random single days
They work great if you grew up in a country with plenty of cheese 🧀 where vacation are usually 4-6 weeks. You know how to use your vacation and got terribly sad with very small PTO amount and accruals.
Also got into a situation where I joined a company without unlimited and had agreement from recruiter that I already had vacation plans and would need the time off and that didn't not work out as they had said. I had to borrow and go negative.📆 📉😭
If historically you like to put your nose to the grinder, yeah maybe a loss. But if you are good at always using your PTO or running out then it's great.
Everything on time or ahead of schedule on your project? Maybe take the Friday off, enjoy. ☕
Do they have a minimum vacation time you need to take?
Amazing, I’d love to see what that language looks like.
This policy is famous in industry because people tend to take less vacation when they don’t count number of days remaining in limited vacation and btw it’s still 3 weeks enforced by managers just they won’t tell you, try to apply for 4 weeks for vacation and see what your manager replies.
Are they hiring for remote work?
We are for several positions.
This is only as good as your manager and actual culture. Make sure you use the time, keep track of it. And be aware of what time off culture gets developed company wide and within your team. It can vary, and in some places, it is a trap. Currently working well for me, but have seen horror stories
Every good manager I’ve worked under has an “unlimited” PTO policy. As long as you get your work done and do it well they don’t care if you record it or not
I have unlimited vacation. I take off at least 1 day a month and 1-2 vacations (depending on coronavirus variants). It depends on the manager though and company culture. At my company, it’s automatically approved.
