Being prepared is great, but you want to build a rapport with the interviewer, if you sound too rehearsed/robotic you are not going to make a connection
Maybe that's a way of saying you're not personable enough? If too rehearsed it could seem cold
I've gotten this feedback as well because I was practicing my questions and answers way too much. Once I stopped rehearsing so much in my head, I didn't get that feedback anymore.
I've found success by preparing examples of things I want to discuss, things I want to bring up and highlight etc. Without practicing them word for word
Think about it this way: your qualifications were good enough to get the interview. Now they are wanting to verify a few things from the resume and see if you’ll blend with the team. Giving robotic/rehearsed answers aren’t helping them see who you really are. Being prepared is great. Researching ahead of time is also great. Showing how you use that info is what they are looking for.
You also need to be conversational. Be prepared to ask them questions. Good interviews go both ways.
