Yeah at my first company. But that's because of how low I started, not because they were super generous or anything. I made $9/hour bagging groceries before moving to cashier and then store assistant. Didn't want to wait around for an AM job to open up, so I left and eventually got there, then left again to become a manager. Loyalty really does not pay anymore. It might've 30 years ago, but now you've got to leave every 3-5 years if you want your pay to meaningfully increase.

I noticed the new hires always make more than me and I’ve been with the company for more than 5 years. Sometimes, I feel like my loyalty is not appreciated enough. Loyal employees should be getting better raises than a new hire coming into a company.
I used to think so, but I've become wise in my years! Loyalty means nothing to them.
