The rationale for taking time off is that it's supposed to be restorative. You tune out and relax and when you return to the grind you're rested and rarin' to go. In that sense, taking time off and ignoring work makes you a better employee. If you want to strive for excellence, ignore work and take it easy this week.
I say time the time off and pause. I know how you feel because I keep doing the same thing, but at the end of the day, we need our rest. Try to enjoy some time and don't do any work.
I find it difficult to find the motivation to open job boards lately too. Honestly, it’s not a December or January thing for me. It’s a my job search has been going so poorly. I find it depressing to keep trying thing. But we have to push forward I guess.
